McCartney catalog not yet on iTunes
The 25-album back catalog of Paul McCartney, which went live on music services such as Napster, Rhapsody, Urge, and Zune Marketplace on Tuesday, has yet to appear on the iTunes Store. In a press release announcing the McCartney deal, Apple said: “Paul McCartney’s full catalog of 25 solo albums will be available for the first time digitally on iTunes later this month.” It is unknown why iTunes has yet to offer the albums — currently, only McCartney’s newest release, “Memory Almost Full,” is available.

The press release said “later this month.” It did not mention a specific date and, uh, there’s one more Tuesday in May.

Yes Ken but, uh, isn’t iTunes supposed to be the leader in this business? The point of the article isn’t when they said it would be available, but why most other services already have it and they don’t.

Yeah, I guess DRM-free available in May means May 31. Similar to iPhone being available in June.

I’d suspect that they want to release the two in tandem since McCartney is signed to EMI.
