This is really clever, though I am not sure I would actually use it.

They’re Also giving away downloads of American Documents such as the Declaration of independence and the Constitution. Just in case you’ve been looking for those.

Things I would like to know before giving something like this serious consideration and that are not readily discernible from a cursory survey of the Web site: (1) How much space on your device does this occupy? (2) Does the “pronunciation guide” tell you the pronunciations in an audio format? (3) Can you add your own words and annotations? (I’m thinking it could have an iTunes-like UI where you could edit stuff, then sync your iPod to update the database.)

Yeah has anyone downloaded this yet? I want to know how much room it takes up before I pay ten bucks only to not have it fit on my nano.

I have the nano too, how much space does is take? and why is it so cheap? on the “American documents..” are they GIVING, as in free? and if so, where to go to get them? you could just downlod those and put them on your ipod and then see how much space it took up. if its to much or you dont need it, “delete it”

The system requirements say 5MB space needed so that gives you a clue as to its size.

The M-W Dictionary takes up 3.3MB of space and all 10 of the free US Documents take up 4.6MB of space on the iPod.

Lawnboy, the US Documents (including the Constitution) is on the home page. It is on the left hand side, in the miidle of the page. You’ll see the link. And 3.3 MB is approx 1 song. The average size of a song is 4 MB.
