Mix: i-Cy, Best Tech, EMI notes, Linkin Park
The i-Cat and i-Dog get a new friend with Hasbro’s new i-Cy penguin ($30). The “musical pet” lights up, flaps his flippers and tilts his head to music from a connected iPod.
Apple leads PC World’s “The 50 Best Tech Products of All Time” list with seven products. The original iPod came in at No. 6 and iTunes 4 at No. 21.
Following yesterday’s DRM-free iTunes announcement, Gizmodo has posted some interesting notes from a conversation with an EMI spokesperson about the initiative.
The iTunes Store is now exclusively offering the first single from Linkin Park’s upcoming album, Minutes to Midnight. In addition, iTunes customers who pre-order the album will get two bonus tracks.

They exclusively have the first single and offer bonus tracks for different artists all the time and nothing is posted here. Why does Linkin Park get a mention?

Because rainking, Linkin Park rocks and it’s been 4 years since their last album. I can’t wait for this one to finally be released!

Then why is it on Rhapsody? Doesn’t ‘exclusive’ mean it’s not available elsewhere?

Because Linkin Park rocks. Personally, I thought they broke up because Mike Shinoda started Fort Minor, but luckily for us, they’re back!

I like the video. They mention it because they are a popular band. whether you like them or not, iTunes will advertise the big acts. The video is the one that is exclusive not the song.

The reason linkin park gets the mention is because that they are one of the first, or the first band to be able to preorder a cd through itunes.
