Mix: Podtropolis, Repeat buyers, Pods Plus, iPod sales
Podtropolis is the first BitTorrent tracker created specifically for iPod-formatted content, including movies, TV shows and music videos.
Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster says that about 30 percent of current iPod purchasers are repeat buyers who are either replacing their existing iPod or adding a new member to their iPod family.
Pods Plus is offering iLoungers 10% off their purchases by using the coupon code “ilounge10”. The offer expires 12/31/2005 and can be used with the current promotion for free shipping on all orders over $25.
“We believe sales of new iPods are picking up steam into calendar year-end, with new video iPod sales stronger than we expected,” says Benjamin Reitzes of UBS Investment Research. “Also, we believe that the story has more legs as the ‘iPod hand-off’ to the Mac story continues to takes shape.”

Wow, I never though iLounge would link to a site which provides .torrent files used to download copyrighted content without permission!

BitTorrent is a file sharing format in which the users are responsible for what they share. Like any P2P technology, it can be used for good or bad—illegal, copyrighted material or a song they wrote and recorded themselves on their Mac. We just linked to the site as news, reporting that this is the first BitTorrent tracker specifically for the iPod to launch. Nothing more. We do not advocate illegal downloading of copyrighted content. It’s simply up to the users to decide what to share with each other. As Apple would say, don’t steal music (or movies or TV shows or music videos).

I’m perfectly aware of that, I just found it strange you linked to it, since no other major site has the balls to do it. Hell, even on my own site, I don’t allow people to link directly to those pages, since it’s against the ToS of my host.

Actully im all for torrents , with out torrents alot of my knoweledge of software and taste in music would be deminished And it has convinced me to buy albums on or software packages that cost thousands , Having Access to p2p i think is important . And like cassette recording i doubt we will see the end of it .So embrace the future .
Besides PODTROPOLIS kicks ### its simple , and seems to have good taste in content so far , i just hope that there are more seeds . because so far theres quallity but not quantity . but im sure that will change soon it seems to be the only one out there .
