Mix: Video devices, iPod battery, nano box, Sony-iTunes
Speaking today at Apple Expo in Paris, Steve Jobs commented on portable video devices: “Whether people want to buy a device just to watch video is not clear—so far the answer’s been no. Devices that do video… have not been successful yet. No-one’s figured out the right formula.”
Following a similar price cut in the US, Apple has lowered prices in the UK for its iPod battery replacement service to £49 from £79.
Kevin Hellhake has come up with a creative way to use his iPod nano packaging to mount his nano in his truck.
Mass Storage Synchronizer is a new “Windows-based iTunes Add-on for Sony Ericsson Walkman Phones, Sony Clie PDA and Sony Ericsson P900/P910 Smartphoneâ€? that lets you use iTunes to transfer music to the devices. [via Gizmodo]

Re: UK Battery replacement issue.
Is it a coincidence that the day that the battery “issue” is mentioned on the BBC consumer affairs programmes “Watchdog” they come out withthe announcement that they are dropping the price from £79 to £49?
This is obviously nowhere near the US settlement which offers compensation or free repairs.
From watching this item on “Watchdog” many of the iPod owners featured seem to be iPod mini owners.
The issue of Apple refusing to carry out warranty repairs on iPods which had suffered “cosmetic damage” was also raised.
