More on music disappearing on iPod mini
Last week we reported that a MacFixit reader reported that his music library was inaccessible on an iPod mini. Today, several readers report smiliar problems. “Last week we began covering a problem where the iPod mini loses access to all data stored on its internal hard drive - though the storage space still appears to be occupied.”
It seems that reseting your iPod mini is the best way to remedy the probelm.

I’ve experience this very same problem once with my 3G 30gig iPod. I, too, had to reset it.

I had the same problem just today. However resetting my mini numerous times didn’t help. I eventually restored the mini via the update software and everything now seems to be fine.
