when my ipod is in the ‘preparing to synchronize’ stage, it doesn’t get stuck exactly. While the progress bar is clearly advancing, it always closes itself down before it finishes, never reaching the actual synchronization. I know that my entire library hasn’t synchronized, so I don’t know what to do from here…..any ideas?

I am having a similar problem. When I try to sync my Ipod (“old style 5G”) with MM, the progress bar gets stuck 90% of the way through, and the MM sync page locks (sometimes crashing the entire system). The Ipod sticks on “do not disconnect”, and the sync fails (i.e. none of the new songs get transferred to the Ipod). Ideas? Is it time to switch to EphPod?
If I re-install MM in an effort to solve this problem, is there any way to preserve my MM-edited tags and playlists?
