Over the holidays, iLounge editors spotted new, previously-unannounced iPod accessories from both Sony and iHome. The Sony TMR-BT8iP is a Dock-connecting Bluetooth 2.0+EDR adapter for iPod, which sells for $70. It is interesting that the BT8iP doesn’t come in a bundle, but is instead sold by itself as a solution for those wishing to send iPod audio to a Bluetooth-capable device. We also spotted a new line of iPod-docking table lamps from iHome which combine a JBL On Stage-like base with adjustable single-bulb lamps of various types. Official introductions of the products will likely take place in the next few weeks; continue reading for more pictures of the new products.

I saw the iHome lamp in Lowe’s the other day… I could consider buying it, if it was a bit cheaper.

Um, you can also get the Sony adapter bundled with some decent bluetooth headphones and its been on sale both by itself and in the bundle at Best Buy and Circuit City for weeks now.

Sony is “targeting” the usage of the Ipod with the PS3. Sounds cool and like a very good marketing strategy.

Has anyone used Sony’s TMR-BT8iP? I’m wondering about the sound quality—specifically when paired with one of Sony’s Bluetooth-enabled car stereo head units (like the MEX-BT2500).
