Its good to hear a good prestigious company is going to make ipods. Especially a PC not MAC related company. I have always bought ASUS boards.

Yep, this is what I call a good sign. I have used Asus boards exclusively for some years now.

Asus. Amazing quality? Right…
They’re one of the manufacturers that still use cheap capacitors.
P4C800, K8V Deluxe, and few others are have been hit.

Woo!
An iPod mini made by Asus. That’s the kind of bragging right I want. =P

They’ll make it exactly to Apple specs, so it will be Apple quality.
Now… if Apple NEEDS another mfr. ... does that mean more HDs are becoming available to use? That would be welcome news. If not, then maybe Apple’s just dumping Inventec soon (or at least dumping Inventec for the Mini, and leaving them to make regular iPods).

Thank God they aren’t making them in the US. Lord knows what would happen if we got some manufacturing jobs back.

If you want US manufacturing jobs back, you have to make it worth a company’s MONEY to make things here. Or be ready to pay 10 to 25% more because if the ridiculous restrictions we put on businesses here.
Are you ready to pay 25% more for your iPod? It;s easy to say yes until you have to whip out the wallet.

You’re talking to the guy who looks at his pay stub and wishes the feds had taken more of his money and given it to people who needed it. I woulnd’t mind paying more for and iPod if it meant there were a few more people with livable wages. Sure, I probably would have gotten a 20gig instead of a 40, but I still would have bought.
The real key to this is to make it not so profitable for companies to send the jobs overseas and make it easier for them to keep the jobs here, while remaining nicely profitable. The fist step to this it to vote Bush out, as he is the first president to lost net jobs during his term since the Great Depression, many of which were lost overseas.

And the RIAA will give sell you a Song’s. For a Song aswell. Get over it Wether you like it or not, the World at large is largely a Capitalistic One. Therefore Market drives Capital to buy low and sell high….

Alden… feel free to vote Bushie out of office, but it will not stop some jobs going overseas. Kerry admitted the other day in a town hall meeting that Globalization is here to stay. He said the future was in the Government getting involved in job re-training for those affected.
As far as your guilt in not paying enough taxes… simple, don’t take any write-offs. That will solve your problem.

I am very suprised some of the Mac Users did n’t know that ASUS is also the OEM for iBooks(If not tell me who produces it). Probably, some people who commented about a WinTel company, owns a ASUS product already without knowing it. BTW, Asus also becomes the OEM for IBM Thinks lately. 3 months ago, I bought a OEM laptop made by Asus, M3700 (design resembles like iBook but has 1400x1028 res), PCLinuxOS is running on it. That’s how I know about these things.
