“Asustek Computer has received OEM orders for the iPod mini digital music player from Apple Computer, according to market sources. Asustek is the second Taiwan-based manufacturer of the digital devices since Inventec Appliances also produces the iPod for Apple.”

This is great, I have used Asus for years and have been very happy with their products.

Also this will probably help alleviate the supply issues.

Having just returned from one week in San Francisco, you can see where all of the factory workers live - on the streets, begging for quarters.  Most of them are non-whites too; S.F. has a large proportion of blacks, hispanics and asian origin people.
I’m from Australia by the way.  Hopefully the Oz Government won’t copy U.S. national economic policy too closely or our (smaller) cities will end up like this.
