Live from Cambridge in the United Kingdom, it’s the iLounge Week in Review, with your new host Bob Levens!
iLounge’s first podcasts launched as experiments last year, and we’ve been playing with a number of ideas since then to bring you a regular weekly offering of some sort. Because of the rapid pace of iPod news and updates to our site, we’ve decided to try this new Week in Review format - a single podcast to launch each Friday, helping you get caught up on what’s happened in the iPod, iTunes, and iLounge universes.
This edition is a test of the new format and will go through additional evolutions in the immediate future, with capsule summaries of reviews, tutorials and more to follow. As we continue to tinker with the podcast, your comments and suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

I am glad to receive iLounge’s podcast. It orignially baffled me why the #1 iPod site did not have podcasts hahaha.
I did hear the first 1 before, and enjoyed it. This last one however seemed to have a different person, who only read word for word from a piece of paper.
It was not very interesting. It was badly presented, and franky boring. It was the “gormet dinner on the trashcan lid.” (meaning, no matter how good the content, if it is presented badly, who will want it?)
I do like this website news/info though. I hope future podcasts will be better.

couldn’t agree with you guys more, this was boring and also the music sucked beyond belief. Don’t pad future podcasts with garbage from garage band, it really is rank.
Don’t know if I will bother with podcasts if this is a sign, it’s quicker to just look at the websites and I can listne to my own music.

I have waited YEARS now for a resurrected iLounge podcast. What hoppuned?!
I’ve searched the site several times and never have been able to find an explanation for the death of the ‘cast.
Oddly, there’s a big hole it still could fit into: I’m susbcribed to several Mac shows and a couple iPhone podcasts. Never could find an iPod ‘cast. I’d subscribe, especially for topics like hacks done to old iPods, battery changing, etc., etc., ... not just the new stuff.
Option: Contribute to other podcasters with segments in THEIR ‘casts. That wold drive traffic back to the site while providing needed perspective and expertise.
Good luck!

We issued this statement when we ceased producing the iLounge Week in Review podcasts -
Many of you have asked when we will be resuming the iLounge Podcasts. After much deliberation we have put the production of podcasts on indefinite hold. When we balanced the time required to produce the show against the low numbers of actual downloads - even when the show was ranked #8 in the US on the iTunes Music Store - we felt that three individuals’ time was better spent creating and maintaining other portions of the site.
Unlike the vast majority of podcasts we had the expanse of the Atlantic and the continental US to overcome, as well as an eight hour time difference. To produce a quality podcast, we sometimes needed to have several ‘takes’ (mostly because of technical difficulties), which became time consuming and seriously impacted other aspects of iLounge “operations”.
We appreciate the overwhelmingly positive feedback we received from listeners. Thank you for downloading and listening to the iLounge podcasts, and we hope that you understand our reasons for making this decision.
