iPhone developer omz:software has changed the name of its popular Newsstand RSS reader app to NewsRack. According to the developer’s blog, Newsstand was pulled from the App Store early last weekdue to a trademark complaint that was received by Apple. An updated version of the application under the new name was submitted to the App Store last Tuesday and was approved last night. In addition to rebranding, the update also provides improved support for RSS feeds that use basic authentication. NewsRack 2.3.1 is available on the App Store for $5 for new customers and is a free update for prior users of Newsstand.
