The National Hockey League has released an official iPhone app for hockey fans. NHL Ice Time 2010 allows iPhone and iPod touch users to track live game scores, player profiles, player and team statistics and schedules for upcoming games directly on their devices. Users can view live scores and in-game stats for ongoing games, access a full season schedule, view standing by division and even view game photos. The application also provides a unique Ice Tracker feature that allows fans to view locations of goals, hits and saves for live games on a virtual hockey rink. NHL Ice Time 2010 Free is available from the U.S. App Store as a free download. It is not presently available outside of the U.S.

Interesting, given MLB makes you pay for the same thing. (and re-pay every year…)

Only available is the U.S. - so they’ll probably get about 50 downloads.

This is what MLB should’ve done. If they really think that their app will keep me from going to the game, then they’re almost as delusional as thinking it was a good idea to charge $15 for this years app. $5 was easy, $10 was fine, $15 is pushing it, especially since they still have the archaic blackout rules. Note for MLB, either make this app cheaper or keep it the same cost and give live video from ANY game ANYWHERE, that would easily justify the $15 for me. Congrats NHL and I think NBA as well for making free apps, MLB, well you better not raise it next year to $20 each for the iPhone and iPad versions. It was bad enough paying the $15 for my phone, I’m not going to rebuy for the iPad version. Quit Being GREEDY!

Yep, nice app.
It’s well aid out. Plenty of info. I like the bios for every active player!
It even scales pretty well on the iPad.
