NYT: For Venus and Mars, a Midpoint in Design

“Apple’s iPod, a sleek white digital audio player, is also cited as an example of elegance that bridges male and female tastes. “The iPod is a great example of gender-neutral,” said Brenda Laurel, chairwoman of the media design program at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Calif., and a designer of video games for girls. “If you are a man, you don’t feel like a wuss carrying it around. That’s the bottom line.”

This is nonsense. With my manly, bulky Archos Recorder, I can club any iPodder to death! I laugh at the puny swats of 3G iPodders, your audio handheld is a mere girly annoyance.
