It seems that the MUSICMATCH software key that shipped with the original Windows iPod will not activate the new 8.0 version. Users must purchase an upgrade. iLounge Forum members suggest that new docking iPods are able to obtain the update at no charge, but the 8.0 version does not have an iPod plugin as yet.

Or just snap the Musicmatch CD, throw it away, and use something good like Ephpod instead!

I bought my win-iPOD 2 months ago, but had no trouble at all to upgrade my MUSICMATCH version to 8.0 The only thing I can’t stand is that Apple still didn’t release the iPOD-update 1.3 for Windows, although it was anounced for early May.

I also did not have a problem updating from Musicmatch 7.5 to 8.0. But I also have a key for All Future Versions, so I didn’t need to pay for the upgrade.
