OtterBox has introduced its new Impact Case for the iPhone 3G. Unlike prior OtterBox cases, which provided at least some level of water protection, the Impact Case is an open-faced, form-fitting silicone sleeve. It offers open access to the headphone jack, ring/silent switch, Dock Connector port, speaker, microphone, sensors and camera, silicone pass-through buttons for the home, sleep/wake, and volume buttons, and inner corners designed to dissipate impact shock away from the device. The OtterBox Impact Case for iPhone 3G is available now in black or white and sells for $20.

I wish they would get rid of that hole that let’s you flash your little Apple logo on the back on the iPhone. That’s the easiest part of the phone to get scratched up. :/ That’s the only thing keeping me from buying one of their cases.

Matt- otterbox is the best case out there, check out their defender series if you are concerned with scratching. I’ve had the defender for both 2g and 3g iPhone and they are great OTHER THAN the fact they don’t take a large data cable end (like on older Audi and Pioneer stuff). But I modified my case and made it work. I suppose they make thinner adapters these days, but with all the crap that was making iPhones paperweights, I held off. I’m considering this case just as a secondary case, just because this company does a good job at protecting. Of course, this one has open parts, but i’m sure its probably better than most silicone carbon copies
