Pacific Design has announced its GrandStand case for fifth-generation iPods. The $40 case is constructed of “rich Italian-sourced polyurethane (PU) material and full-grain leather,” and features a Lexan screen protector, belt clip, and flip-cover that can be folded back to create a stand for watching videos. The GrandStand is available in five color combinations—black with a red stripe, brown with a tan stripe, green with a white stripe, turquoise with a white stripe, and pink with a white stripe.

hahaha yea. People need to stop making cases for ipods since there are about a billion out there and they all function the same. The stand device on this one is pretty neat although its probably useless. Also, the cost of cases these dayes are too MUCH.

All PU/fake leathers are not created equal! And the description says both Italian PU and “full grain leather”. So I doubt this is your everyday run of the mill fake leather case. I have seen some makers out there claiming leather that the quality was aweful on. Besides the stand function on this case looks really cool and with the Lexan hard plastic screen protector this product seems much better than the Belkin kickstand case or other similar stand cases for the video.

Yeah, but just about every case with a flap can be used as a stand. I’ve got one where I just fold the flap over and snap it in place, works just the same.
