HelixVault, the company founded by iVault creator and iLounge forum member Greg Gutierrez (aka Helixipod), today announced the PhoneVault case for Motorola’s iTunes-enabled SLVR cell phone. The case is machined from a solid billet of aircraft quality aluminum and features a magnetic closure, black velvet lining, and openings for all controls and ports. Two versions will be available this month—a solid, plain back design for $50, and a perforated back design for $70. Gutierrez debuted the popular iVault iPod shuffle case on the iLounge Forums in February 2005, later partnering with Griffin Technology to produce and distribute the product.

Is it really necessary to have a case for everything you own? When is Griffin going to announce cases for my PC?

What about a case to protect my pretty phonevault case?

Greg should make a case with little metal spikes and sharp edges on it so it can officially rip the ### out of those other pansy cases.

I feel that ilounge.com should stick to the ipods and ipod news. To Much none related iPod Gear is getting put onto the site

This is an accessory for an iTunes phone - we cover them to the extent we think appropriate, and there’s virtually no “none related iPod Gear” on the main site.

It actually looks rather complimentary to the aethetics of the SLVR…except…wasn’t a KEY SELLING POINT of the SLVR based upon its thin and, *ahem*, sexy profile???
With this case, the phone has the bulk of a typical, run-of-the-mill candy bar.

Sounds like a wonderful idea. Sell me a case that make my super-thin phone bulky, at a price that is $30 more than the phone for which I got under a contract. Where do I sign up?
