I know this thread is dead, but I wanted to add that I also have had problems with re-imaging an authorized machine. A co-worker informed me today that he had a similar problem, and wrote apple and they quickly re-set his authoriziations. Just a FYI as it sounds like a good solution for several of those on this forum.
