PocketParty Shuffle micro speaker system ships
PodGear announced today that it’s now shipping the PocketParty Shuffle portable speaker system for the iPod shuffle.
“PocketParty Shuffle turns an iPod shuffle into the world’s tiniest ghetto blaster,” says the UK-based company. “Designed exclusively for the iPod shuffle, and taking design cues from the world’s most iconic flash MP3 player, the PocketParty can even be worn around the neck like the iPod itself.”
The iPod shuffle plugs into the top of the PocketParty via the headphone port. The £24.99 device has two speakers and a status light on one side. It offers 1 watt of stereo output and up to 10 hours of battery life from a single AA battery.

“PocketParty Shuffle” just sounds dirty.

Its been available in London for a couple of weeks now. Have a demo in one of the shops on Tottenham Court Road, and although the shuffle once connected looks like its truly a part of the speakers, the sound is correspondingly tiny. Useful only when you’re in a very quiet small room. Doesn’t actually look to bulky when on the lanyard too…. not that you’d go around wearing it on a lanyard

I like the simplicity… but I would suggest the term “ghetto nudger” instead of “blaster.”

I own one of these - it’s quite nifty, but yeah it doesn’t “blast”. Also, it’s very tricky to get the shuffle off it again.
