PodGear intros FirePower World Tour
PodGear has announced the FirePower World Tour, an AC iPod charger with a number of international plug attachments. The 110V-240V charger sells for £19.99 and comes with US, UK, European and Australian lightweight plug attachments which can be easily switched.
“The launch of the FirePower World Tour means that iPod users need not worry about the frustrating problem of keeping their iPod charged when traveling abroad,” says the company. “The new PodGear iPod charger allows users to charge their dockable iPod in over 150 countries using its multi-plug attachment system.”

Another case of somebody attempting to make money with an unneccessary overpriced device aimed at the iPod market.
Why buy this when a $5 multi adapter (available at any travel goods store or airport) will do exactly the same thing AND can be used with every other device you are carrying on the trip?

K1W1, you seem to be forgetting that Apple recently stopped including the FireWire power adapter on the new iPod mini and iPod photo models… AFAIK, the iPod USB/FW power adapter costs $29, and the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit costs $39, even though it’s also compatible with PB and iBook power bricks (a feature which, anyway, would be of no use for either laptop or desktop PC users, or desktop Mac users). If you add it up, it costs you $68, while this accessory costs you just $36,5, and it does exactly the same…
