The most recent Lounge Poll, “What do you think of the iPod with video?”, is now closed.
With over 5,100 votes cast, opinion was almost evenly split between people who said they’d buy the newest iPod, and those who said they would not or were waiting to decide. Fifty percent said that they planned to buy the new iPod, with 31% saying that it was exactly or almost exactly what they wanted, 10% saying they’d buy although videos were too low quality, and 9% saying they’d buy although the screen was too small for video. Twenty-seven percent said they would not buy, with 5% citing video quality, 12% citing screen size, and 10% citing general dissatisfaction as reasons they won’t buy one. The remaining 22% were waiting to try one, or for a review, before forming an opinion.
Complete results are available in Read More below, and at the Lounge Poll archives. Our new poll, “Have you purchased any video content from the iTunes Music Store?”, is now open. You can find it on the left column below Ask iLounge - please cast your vote!

I like the thinness of it but the one I have, B/W 4G, is fabolous for what is does- Play Music.
I don’t like the change for the accessories. I have invested a lot in cases, remotes, etc. So I won’t buy the new one until my current breaks.

I really like the styling of the new 5G iPod. I didn’t think I was going to like the Nano when I saw it coming out, but having then held it in my hands I really, really liked it, so am well pleased that the new full sized iPods followed suit.
I am however very dissapointed that the remote option has been taken away. I mainly use my iPod on the train on the way to and from work and have my music on shuffle through all songs, so invariably I skip tracks. So now I’ll have to keep taking it out of my pocket to skip tracks and alter volume !!! What !!! What’s all that about, how annoying.
I was looking forward to the whole video option coming, but now its actually here I’m not that bothered by it. Its abit like growing up and Christmas, you still get excited about it coming, but once its here its all abit of an anti climax !
The only 2 things that make me want to upgrade my 20Gb 3G iPod (and still the best looking button configuration) is being able to have a 60Gb drive and the look of it!
So, as Mr Rotten said in ‘78…..‘This is no fun, no fun at all…........Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?’

I recieved the iPod yesterday and had fun playing with it for about 9 hours then it decided to stop working… for good. I talked with apple service and they want me to send it away for two weeks worth of service! I haven’t even had it for a day! Up until now I feel like Apple has done a good job of customer service but right now I am very dissapointed.

just picked one up. I held out for the longest time to get a true ipod (yes i have a shuffle). I am so glad I waited…. the way I see it the video feature is just the icing on the cake… other than that you get a slim ipod with better battery life, and a bigger screen. If you’ve been holding out for an ipod now is the time to pick one up and enjoy a sweet device!
