“the inventor of the radio, Guglielmo Marconi”...  Horse Feathers!  Nikoli Tesla invented the radio and published his papers in several different languages, including Italian, a few years before Marconi decided to “invent” it for his personal gain.

Dave: every group—including the Italians—is entitled to their dillusions. Though I wonder if a German-born Pope would be so accepting as to deny an Austrian-Hungarian born (sorta like German…well, maybe…if one really, REALLY squints) Serb-American (i.e., Tesla) his due.

Then again, the Canadians also have their own radio inventor (Fessenden, who supposedly was the first to broadcast voice as opposed to code), and if one ignores the science (or lack thereof) behind the patents, there’s a couple of Americans (Ward, Loomis) who managed to score a couple of patents between themselves for a similar theory of wireless commnunications in the 1870s, even if there’s some real debate on whether the theory really worked or it was all smoke and mirrors (the earliest successful experiments supposedly took place in 1866, decades before Tesla’s own working experiments).

And here people thought the patent office’s incompetence was a recent thing.

It’s weird.
I don’t believe in God(s) but I read the reactions there, and I can only imagine the fury of Jewish or Muslim believers if these comments were directed to them.
But as long as it’s the catholic church, it’s ok to bash them.

Hey Jack…

It’s probably one of two things:  Either, it’s ok for members of a community to poke fun or ridicule their own community.  Or, it’s an indication that the children of one of Abraham’s three sons are a little more laid back than those of the other two.

I s’pose there’s a third option… and you are about to go on a crusade against all these blasphemers.

Oh.. personnaly I don’t care, and since my favorite movie is Monty Python’s “Life of Brian” I’ve got my own view about believers… but frankly imagine one second a joke about jewish people (Ipod related, of course, to stay ontopic), I bet it would be erased in the next 2 hours.
