Does this company pay to advertise in the news section here, or are you guys just doing this out of the goodness of your hearts?

They have a banner… I think that iPodLounge just supports them because they are a good company. I pre-ordered these headphones from them and when I had questions, their customer service was excellent. They were quick, and kind. I would highly recommend this company!

My only qualms about buying these is that the earphones look like they’re connected with thread. The cables appear awful thin based on the photos

I love how on the 6i site the list price says $149.00, and is crossed out, with “our price” underneath it, showing their price to be ::drumroll please:: $149.00. Big savings.

I love the way etymotic keeps pushing back the release date. :(

John Smith: Spoken like someone who has never listened to etymotics. Get a clue before spouting off.

Etymotic is one of the most reputable companies there is. I have had nothing but good service from them. They are a great company. I would not trade my ety er4p’s for anything. The 6i is sure to be a great product..if you have never had one of their products..quit trashing them!!!

Seems like you have to dress them up and will still want to take them out. Hardly the first earphones made for the iPod. All marketing and the sound is ok until you listen to them side by side with others in that price range that smoke the etymotics. They have a sound that you either love or hate. Big whoop, white and aimed at us iPod folk. Seems a little like trying to glom off of the iPL with a color change. I hope it is more than that. Just window dressing on a decent product.  Lots of brands and models out there but listen and decide from what you like, not what you read.

br,

“Does this company pay to advertise in the news section here, or are you guys just doing this out of the goodness of your hearts?”

You seem to care too much about how iPodlounge handle their business. Get a life and build something. How about your own website?

“To Microphone/EarphoneSolutions: Buy a banner ad. Stop flooding the news section with ads.”

Again you’re so fast in jumping on these news. What do you care? It seems like you have some undisclosed special interest in trashing a reputable company. You’re always on the watch for these news.

And yes, they do have a banner on the forum section which helps and make it possible for you to play “lounge cop”.

If the ad/news doesn’t interest you, move on! Invest in yourself, grow and quit being so worried about other business providing a decent service. Do they have an interest? YOU BET! Are you posting from Mars?

I made the remark because masqurading advertisements as “news” on the front page lends quite poorly to iPodlounge’s credibility.
It’s also misleading for the readers.

“Again you’re so fast in jumping on these news. What do you care? It seems like you have some undisclosed special interest in trashing a reputable company.”

I care because it’s tiresome having to distingush between what is genuine news and what is an advertisement on the main page. I have no problem seeing news articles describing new and interesting products (eg, new vaja case). The main problem I have with Microphone/Earphone Solutions is that I see a misleading “news” article around every two weeks or so. Most of the “news” articles just describe promotional codes that they are offering. That is not news.

“Get a life”

That’s called a “cheap shot”.

“If the ad/news doesn’t interest you, move on!”

Oh, but if only it was that simple! The real news they post interests me greatly. In fact, I check this site daily for news. I think the frequently updated news section is what makes this site so valuable.

“Are you posting from Mars?”

Huh?

Quite frankly, I thought based on the name of this site, that they would talk about ipods, and minis, rather then advertise for some other company’s earphones.

I bought the e6 earbuds advertied here and find I really don’t like the sound they provide.  Clear highs, but very little in the way of bass.  Is this normal or did I miss the bass plug on the headphones which needs to be removed to get rich deep bass tones?

oops.  I man er6!

Takeo, if you don’t have a good seal with in-ear earphones, the bass will be terrible, since it depends so heavily on that seal to facilitate conductive transmission of sound. I’ve found that properly inserted earphones have very accurate bass, though people’s prefence for bass quality varies (many people do like boomy, bloated bass). The feeling should be the same as when you stick your fingers as far as possible into your ear canals, so that humming sounds extremely loud and that your own footsteps sound like explosions to yourself. If you did have a good seal, you may simply prefer more bass.

Thanks for the reply!  I crammed them in and actually had almost a vacuum effect going on.  Could be I’m a bloated bass lover smile  Either way my cheapo Sony earbuds do a pretty decent job (beats the iPod tossaways, which aren’t bad as OEM earbuds go).

I really love the fact that they post about ANYTHING related to the ipod. I am sure there are many other people like me who own an ipod and want to invest in better headphones, and I am happy to read headlines about anything and everything related to the ipod, no matter how distantly related. ipodlounge.com obviously doesnt have enough time to review every piece of related equipment on the planet so giving these headphones a news headline at the very least will help me in my search for better headphones. And it’s easier for someone with less time and internet-knowhow to come to one place for allllll their ipod-related queries and solutions. I love every single news heading, no matter how ridiculous.

I have the Etys 4P.  I was sceptical at first, but they are a better invention than the ipod.  The original OEM phones from Apple self-destructed.  They are horrible.  .
