Today ProClip announced that it has released models for 20GB and 40GB iPods. “ProClip mounting brackets are clip-on devices, that attach to the car or truck’s dashboard or console, and can be self-installed in seconds. Once the bracket is in place, a custom designed holder is attached to provide a secure fit for each accessory.” The ProClip for iPod is priced at $34.95 and is available for many popular auto makes and models.

So basically, you need the clip first for 29.95, then the ipod holder for 34.95! A little high wouldn’t you say? Am I understanding the sight clearly? You need them both correct? If it had everything for 34.95 I would think it’s a possibility cause it’s a pretty good setup, but not for 60 plus $!

I viewed what they have and was stunned. I purchased a little plastic gizmo from the Verison store for a cell phone. works on same principle - clip it into the vent, hang the phone in its case via the button that accepts the belt clip. I forget how much, but it was for next to nothing. I used it for my iPod and it was fine.
Why so much for this thing? I fail to see the difference except that it cuts off a lot more of the vent than the cell phone holder.

Expands line of iPod mounts? Give me a break… making another press release is nothing more than a publicity booster…
The 20 is the same size as the 15GB, and the 40 is the same size as the 30GB… which they already had mounts for!

They released a clip for the 1st gen iPods, they previously only had mounts for the 3rd gen. Yes, it’s expensive but they are custome made for a specific vehicle and device.
