imageRadTech next week at Apple Expo will introduce its ClearClip, a new clip solution for Apple’s iPod shuffle. Made from durable, transparent Polycarbonate, the ClearClip cradles the entire shuffle and features a clip that lets you attach the device to nearly anything. The product allows access to the mode switch on the back of the shuffle and the control pad on the front. The ClearClip is priced at $17.95.

Gosh, i made this in my design & technology class… Radtech came up with all these gimmicks.

The protectorz - Why the hell did they call it the protectorz, they don’t come in a set of fives. Why do they put the “Z” to try and make it cool? It is a single soft plastic that stabs into the ipod connection plug. Selling for 5.99 is a ripoff.

The ClearClip - Is there like a Radtech high school somewhere where the students are taught to make polycarbonate clips? This is what i make at school. Make a mould of the ipod shuffle, cut out the polycarbonate with laser machine, put the polycarbonate into the heater, take it out and push it on the mould. They say that this is durable but the clip is actually weak. I can sense the clip snapping off any moment. They should at least make a steel spring clip. Also buyers beware, there are quite a number of plastic clips out there already. Some or few have problems with stratching the shuffle or damaging it. Some have sharp corners and unfinshed areas. Make sure you read some reviews from people before buying it. You can get something much better with 17.95. It’s a ripoff.

The clip itself looks to be pretty useful.

But the price point sure is discouraging. I wouldn’t pay more than $10 for this thing, though I think it works best at the 7.95 price range.

But $17.96? I guess they are planning to sell a few at a high price rather than many at a more fair price.

Then again, with the marketing strategies and price points I’ve seen from RadTech, I don’t think I will be buying from them in the future.
