Rain Design debuts iRest Lap Stand for iPad

Rain Design has debuted its new iRest Lap Stand for the iPad. Designed specifically for use on the user’s lap, the iRest is made from aluminum, and features a torque hinge that allows for angle adjustment up to 60 degrees, the ability to fold flat for travel, foam cushions for comfort, the ability to work as a desktop stand, cutouts for the Dock Connector and speaker, the ability to be used with encased iPads, and padding for the iPad to prevent scratches. Rain Design’s iRest Lap Stand for iPad is available now and sells for $50.

From all the pictures I’ve seen it appears to be a portrait only stand. Is there a way to use the device to hold the iPad in a landscape orientation?

@2 - I looked at the gallery on the Rain website. Although it never actually shows an iPad in landscape, it does show the stand empty. It is only holding the iPad with what appears to be a rubberized bottom with a lip and an aluminum looking plate up the back. I see nothing there that would not allow landscape. If anything, the plate me be visible near the top of the device in landscape. But I even doubt that based on what I saw.
