‘Raise Your iPod’ photos posted
It was a blast to have met iLoungers coming out for the ‘Raise Your iPod’ group photo. I want to thank everyone for showing up and participating in celebrating iLounge and the iPod.
A special thanks to Pam Bennett et al at Apple for providing several iPod minis for the event and to BusinessWeek for sending out a photographer… thanks to Peter Burrows, Anne D’Aprix and Gerry the photographer!. Also, a big thank you to Cortland Haws of TheMacMind.com for helping me coordinate the event… nice job.
Congratulations to the winners of the Etymotic earphones. Each earphone was thrown over my shoulder to whoever caught it. Our sincerest apology to the woman who was pushed to the ground while trying to catch the earphones. Imani, sorry about that guy bumpin’ your head. Thanks to iLounger Mike for canceling his flight to come to the group photo! It was great to have met all of you and again thanks for supporting iLounge.

I agree. Where are the other couple-of-hundred people to pose for the shot? How come i never knew about this?
Sigh.
Oh well. Better luck next time. Although if i could get a couple of hundred people together, who share the same passion for the iPod, i would be God.

Although there was not a large turn-out, it was fun nonetheless and a great ooportunity to meet all the supportive iPodloungers.

Believe me, we would have been there if we could have made the trip. If the ipodloungers featured in the pics don’t mind - would it be possible to identify the members by first name or nickname? I’d love to be able to put a face to the name.

Sounds fun that throwing prices over shoulders and people fighting about getting them. Hope noone was killed.
Next time you should just make a lottery instead, it’s more fair.

Jeez, u bunch of elitist snobs. Who cares who owns an ipod? Personally, i dont feel any “cooler” for owning one, and be honest with yourselves, Mp3 players in general are all a little bit geeky, i mean, real “trendy” people dont spend all their time encoding mp3’s, using firewire ports and posting messages on internet forums. They use Cd’s and hang out in those bars we can only view from the outside.
As my mummy used to say, “If you have nothing nice to say, dont say anything!”
Thankyou, im here all week ;o)

Iain
50 cent had an ipod in his music video and i bet he doesnt know a thing about firewire etc etc
all i was trying to say is apple are trying to sell the ipod as a trendy must have thing and if all the people who bought it as that saw who else was buying it (geeks) then i bet apple wouldnt get as many sales
and there is a differance between owning/knowing how to use an ipod and what was on display on those horrific photographs.

I’m a proud geek. If it weren’t for geeks, none of this would exist.
I’m a 35 year old kid as well.
sarK… you got a bad attitude.

if 50 cent had an Ipod in his video, then all i can say is brutal product placement.
50 cent couldnt use a Drive-Thru never mind an IPod
