Dealmac: A reader notes that The Apple Store lowered prices on its line of factory-refurbished iPods in its Special Deals section. The iPod 10GB, without docking cradle, fell to $229, $20 off. The 15GB and 30GB models include a docking cradle and now cost $279 and $379, respectively. Also available are the second-generation 10GB and 20GB iPods for Mac, which cost $169 and $269, respectively. Shipping is free, although sales tax is added where applicable. Each features a one-year Apple warranty.

Just bought my first iPod. A refurbed 15 gb from Apple for $279. Can’t wait to plug it in to my iMac and load her up. That’ll make my day.

I got one of the refurb 10 gig for $259.99 on Friday… Called them Tuesday to see if they would price match. Got my $20 back
.
FYI with any product you can get back the difference within 10 days if you buy from the Apple store. You’re kinda screwed if a new model (AKA 40 gig) comes out as they won’t price match because it’s a *new* product.
