I have been using my iPod since July ‘03. I never go walking without it, and it is my constant companion (along with iTrip when I take a long trip in the car. I just love it!

you are awfully foolish if you want 900$ earphones to listen to music compressed with a lossy codec.

Sound quality is not the only reason for wanting expensive earphones.  Comfort is more important to me that sound (at least for my ipod ).  Though $900 is a little extreme.

my stock earphones are great, but I want something more ergonomic and easy to unravel.

Great headphones make all the difference in the world if you are a music lover! If money were no object these are exactly where I’d put my money! Wow!  I have champagne taste and a beer bankroll, and I am excited about this really cool contest! It will be lots of fun to see the winning pictures too.

I don’t get it. I worry enough about my iPod being lost or stolen without needing to be followed around by a security guard. With my iTrip and other accessories. Nice offer but expensive doesn’t mean they sound good. Nice idea, but it’s more like having the champagne taste, beer bankroll and winning a contest being handed 100 cases of Schlitz with champagne labels on the cans. No thanks.

Lets be honest. If I win this contest, im selling these earphones simply because
a. my ears cant tell the difference between 900 dollar headphones and 100 dollar headphones (which are very good btw)
b. 900 - 100 = 800 dollars to spend on whatever i want

Good luck selling earphones that have been personally customised to fit your ears.

They make earphones worth $900!!?!??
Will they make my $30 walkman sound better?

You naysayers are rediculous, and should be ineligeble.  No one forces you to enter first off.  Second off they are trying to provide us with an opportunity to win something we most likely otherwise could not justify to purchase.  Yes these sound 900 dollars good.  They are designed to be used as monitor sets for recording artists during performances etc.  Custom fit for comfort, and perfect noise cancellation

i was kidding, id definitely keep them
they are awesome

as a musician who has used in ear monitors in many live situations, i can say that there’s a HUGE difference in the many different kind’s of headphones/earbuds/in ears, etc that are available to us these days.
bravo to ipodlounge for hooking up this contest!!

Here we go again with the “if I’m not into’s stupid thing” !! Some people are into different things.. you don’t have to use these phones with the ipod only, some people listen to headphones with other sources. But I use both Grado 80’s and etymotic er4p with my ipod and cd’s ripped at 256..the clarity of both of these are on another planet from stock headphones. I spent almost $500 bucks on my ipod, why would I find it silly to get high end headphones?!? I personally can’t afford $900 for cans..but would sure love to win them!!

I’m sure these are great, but if you have to buy, don’t forget to look at the Etymotics Research ER-4p. They sound great (WAY better than the stock buds), cost about $220 online, and isolate external sound much better than a pair of Bose noise cancellers , and sound much better than those too!

I use em, and have actually sat next to a squallling baby on a plain. Instead of 100% baby, I heard 90% Miles Davis, 10% baby.
