Apple’s iTunes 11 is “expected as soon as” today, according to The Wall Street Journal. A profile of Apple’s Senior VP Eddy Cue also mentions the launch of the new iTunes, which “has been delayed a month by engineering issues that required parts to be rebuilt, according to people who have seen it.” A recent report expected the launch of iTunes 11 shortly, and Apple has said the media player and organizational tool would appear by the end of November after missing its original October launch date.

My translation: wait for brave early adopters and/or back up your .itl files before installing it. An 11/29 release still says it got pushed out the door early just so they could save face on not missing two announced release dates in a row.
And even if it works as it’s supposed to, I really hope this isn’t as bad as I am expecting. I look at their “sneak peak” and think, who, of those of us who have been using iTunes happily for so many years, want ANYTHING they’re changing. Oh look, I can now have the songs I intentionally don’t own show up IN my library as links to the store! Yay…
