As the iPod is quickly becoming a mainstream icon we are seeing a lot of news outlets mentioning the iPod in articles which have nothing to do with iPods. We also see animators, cartoonists and humorists using the iPod as inspiration as well. If you find the iPod used or mentioned in any articles, commentaries, films, movies, TV shows, cartoons, animations, comics, music videos, etc. post it below as a comment and remember to include a link to it if possible.

“article exploring the dealth of album art featured an ipod”
A firmware update for the ancient audio-only Archos now lets it display (greyscale) album art and video during music playback.
If the crappy Archos can do this then so can the iPod. Why are Appl’e firmware “upgrades” so lame?

The new issue (Jan. 04) of Harp magazine has an interview with Ryan Adams. There’s a photo of Ryan in his apartment and there’s an iPod on the cluttered table in front of him.

Chris is right about the ipod on the OC, it was in a recent episode. Also, a while back on The Daily Show, they did a segment on downloading music and played a clip of a college student saying he doesnt have enough money to buy CD’s. Jon Stewart said something like, “Yeah, he spent all his money on a 2,000 dollar PC, 500 dollar ipod, and 50 dollar concert tickets.”

In addition to the above, I’ve spotted an iPod in Jeniffer Lopez’s age old video clip, “Jenny From The Block”. It is hard to notice, but when she is dancing she holds the iPod in her hand and you can see the renowned shiny silver surface and white plastic. Funny, my sister found it.
Also, in the teen-show “Degrassi” where I hear that it was mentioned ‘You can buy an iPod for 200 bucks”.
Not to mention this site, which parodies iPod ads. http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=1675

Recently went to the John Mayer concert. On the way out I saw a 3G iPod hooked up to the Sound System. I think it was running all the audio playing before and after the concert - just random tracks. But it looked sweet sitting in its dock above the massive sound desk.

Before the break Howard Stern was always talking about trying to get music onto his iPod. Apparently he was sending it out to some company in NYC, that would put whatever music you wanted on your iPod if it was to hard for you to do yourself.
