SendStation giving away 1,000 free PocketDock adapters

image

SendStation Systems says it has teamed up with the Easter bunny to give away 1,000 free FireWire PocketDock iPod adapters. The thumb-sized PocketDock lets you connect a standard 6-pin FireWire cable to the dock connector of any iPod, allowing you to sync/charge your iPod with a FireWire cable or use older iPod accessories. The offer is available while supplies last or until April 16, 2006 and is limited to one PocketDock per person.

It seems like you have to pay 6.80 in euros for shipping. That’s something like 10 bucks. Not exactly free.

Sure, but still, can you really expect them to give it to you free and take a hit on shipping.  I’m not sure they’ll even be able to give many of these away at this point, but I don’t thing the $10 shipping it too much to ask…

i got one of these the last time they were giving them away. yes, shipping means you have to pay something, but i guess it’s not that bad of a deal if you have a use for it. unfortunately, since firewire has been dropped for syncing capabilities on 5G and nanos, i can only use this pocketdock for charging. maybe that’s why sendstation is giving them away free- again.

I’m not really complaining as much as I am stating a fact. I would have ordered one if it was free, but it’s not worth $6.80 to me. So therefor, it’s no longer an interesting deal.

I have no problem with them charging shipping, but it is a little cheesy that they don’t tell you until you are about 75% through the checkout process.

I got one last time they were giving them away too.  I used it regularly at the office so I didn’t have to carry a cord back n forth. Then on weekends I’d take just that when I go stay w/ my g/f.

It was nice when it was usefull.  Now that it doesn’t work w/ today’s iPods it’s pretty useless.  I’m about to eBay my g/f’s old mini and I’m going to throw that into the bundle.

It says it right there at the first page of the store,  “Free shipping on all orders above USD 75. Otherwise plus USD 6.80 for shipping & handling.”

You guys just need to pay closer attention smile

They say “Heres a FREE dock to firewire adaptor but please pay $6.80 US for Shipping.———Does it really cost almost 7 bucks to send such a small item?

Note that they are located in Germany, so they ship overseas for $6.80 only. Quite fair IMO, nothing to complain about.

It’s FREE!  When you buy something at any store on the planet you get the price, then pay shipping unless they say FREE SHIPPING.  I’m kinda blown away that people even mention it, well, not really, everyone seems to want everything, and when they get it they want more.

Anyways, I have two Firewire/USB adaptors and they’re great, sure couldn’t pass up a FREE firewire adaptor since it’s FREE.

They’re giving them away because FireWire has been deprecated; making them not worth as much as they used to. Another reason to offer them for free is to push someone who’s been thinking about ordering one of their other products to take some action. Or maybe someone who hears about this promotion will end up buying another product.

I’ve ordered from them before and I highly recommend them. They have excellent customer service. I was sent the wrong item and I wrote them an email to tell them about it. They responded within a few hours. They sent me a new item and told me to keep the other one. The shipping from Germany to California was relatively quick, too!

Grind is right, last time they were giving these away I bought a firewire/lineout dock, just cos I got the firewire one for free. Sure I don’t use it, but the shipping covered both so it was a nice bonus.
The firewire/lineout is great by the way, comes with some nice leads too.

I got one the last time they gave them away, as I needed a second one (bought one when they first came out). I hate to pass up another freebie, but I really don’t need a third one.
