I just received an email from Sendstation, makers of the PocketDock FireWire adapter. It states that preorders for the PocketDock are now shipping. The website states that shipping time to the USA and Canada is 4-7 weekdays, shipping within Europe is 1-4 weekdays and the rest of the world is 4-14 weekdays. The PocketDock costs $18.95 for a single adapter and is also available in a 3-pack for $52.95.

Looks like an awesome product for those upgrading to 3G from 1G or 2G, especially those w/ multiple cables, car chargers, etc.
IMO, however, it’s significantly overpriced.

I agree with you that it’s overpriced, but again, I figure the fact that I can use my two extra firewire cables as well as my car charger is probably worth it.

Seems like the iPod charges better off the AC adapter rather than the dock. I keep the adapter in a different part of the house and have a spare Firewire cable, so I’m looking forward to getting mine and making charging easier.

well at $19 you’re not saving much by using this instead of buying a new cable. that is, unless you’re trying to salvage another ipod accessory.
