Chris,
Does this not happen automatically with you? I use a video ipod and the latest itunes and it seems to update the playcount just fine.
The one problem I do have, which apple have been most unhelpful about, is that the autosync between itunes and the ipod does not transfer all of the songs and video to the ipod. As a result there are around 80 songs or video which have not been transferred, but i have no way of knowing whihc ones are missing. Does anyone else have this problem?

Ivideotogo will not copy copy write protected DVDs. So that rules out most DVDs. They dont mention that one.;
