SOMA Software has released an iPhone version of the classic 1980’s arcade game Defender. In this side-scrolling arcade shooter, players battle hoards of aliens ships who are trying to abduct humans from the surface. The game provides controls tailored for the iOS touchscreen and includes global leaderboards through Apple’s Game Center. Defender requires an iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 4.0 or later; a iPhone 4 or fourth-generation iPod touch is recommended for best performance. Defender is available from the App Store for $2.
