Star Wars Episode III iSkin revealed

pic As previously reported, Skittles is launching an iPod giveaway as part of its promotion for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Details are minimal at this point, with only a short note on saying: “Come back April 2nd to play ‘Hunt for Grievous’ and enter your in-pack codes for a chance to win cool prizes including a Star Wars engraved iPod with iSkin.”

iLounge has acquired photos of the Star Wars-themed silicone protector from iSkin, which was commissioned by Skittles. The red iSkin eVo2 features a small illustration of Darth Vader’s head on the front, and a tribal “Vader” graphic on the back. The case also features an iSkin Wheel Cap with a Darth Vader logo.

Doooorky.  Reminds me of a lame attempt to rip off the Van Halen “VH”.

What is that on the back?

Or was this a custom design for the Empire, so everyone can hear Vader’s theme over and over again?  That’s Bush’s “Machine Head”, right?

That’s it? I’m sure if I was a big Star Wars fan I’d be highly dissapointed right now.

As is I’m just slightly dissapointed due to lake of real interest.

does anyone anywhere want an ipod cover with the skittles logo on the front?

unfortunately very stupid…. why not glossy black and white… storm trooper style… or vader helmet style… weak design

wow. that. is. lame.

and it leaves me unable to speak in more than one word sentences.

One question? why does the Vader on the front look more anime than Star Wars?

apparently nascar helped create the wheel logo

That is just stupid, I wouldn’t accept that if it was free.  They did not do any justice to Star Wars and the Skittles logo on the front does not match anything.  A black and white (or all black or all white) skin would have looked much better with a bigger picture of Darth and you don’t need the name.  Everyone knows who Darth Vader looks like, even people who aren’t into Star Wars know who he is.

This skin is FUGLY

Interesting. A Star Wars-themed product designed by someone who has obviously never seen even the first five minutes of the original film.

They could just use the existing Star Wars Logos and images.

Black iSkin with Red,orange, yellow on fire Star Wars logo would work (I think all the toys will have this kind of logo)

I thought all the merchandise had to be screened by Lucasfilm. And generally they loke to have everything coming out to have a uniform look. I hope every Episode III product doeesn’t look like this.

Amazing they could take something that looks as good as iPod and make it look like s**t.

oh no.

This iSkin was approved by LucasFilms, otherwise Skittles would not be able to have a product bear any likeness to Darth Vader.  M&M Mars does not mess around with copyrighted materials.

The cool thing is that this Skittles iSkin actually gives away a part of the movie.  Don’t read any further if you don’t want to ruin a fun surprise in the movie.

SPOILER ALERT:  In a bold move to establish himself as a badass and no longer a good guy (ie Jedi), Anakin gets a tattoo (“branded”) with his Sith name “Vader” down his forearm.  The tattoo is represented on the back of the Skittles iSkin.

After seeing the tattoo and learning Anakin has turned to the dark side, Amidala fights off her love / lust for Anakin - too bad for her that she has a weakness for bad boys (AHEM - Leia falls for Han Solo, apple doesn’t fall far from the tree?).  After a passion filled night on Naboo, Anakin leaves Amidala before she wakes up.  Unbeknownst to him, he is leaving Amidala newly pregnant with twins.  END OF SPOILER

This movie is gonna kick a$$.

Episode III will kick a$$

calvinkronenberg, that’s not how it happens at all.  She actually learns Anakin’s fate from Obi Wan.

That Buffy inspired logo is just a$$.

I just won this. I need the iPod, but I don’t care for the iSkin. So how much do you think I can sell this 1-of-a-kind iSkin on Ebay?
