Starbucks’ Hear Music now on iTunes Store
Starbucks today announced that its Hear Music catalog is now available on Apple’s iTunes Store. According to the coffee giant, Hear Music produces a wide range of albums featuring new and classic artists including the Artist’s Choice series, Opus Collections, Debut Series releases by emerging artists, as well as new works from major artists. “The Starbucks Entertainment area within iTunes will feature a wide variety of playlists including unique music hand-picked by the same Starbucks Hear Music content team responsible for selecting the music played in Starbucks stores around the world,” the company said in its announcement. “Playlists and content will be updated frequently and will also include digital versions of many of Hear Music’s popular CD series and co-releases.”

Why does Starbucks have to dip their hands into everything? They should pay more attention to coffee, than to music. Their music collection is nothing special either. Most to all of the stuff has already surfaced through other labels when it came out (20 years) ago. So they are not re-inventing the wheel, just fixing up the camoflage it’s packaged in. Look at the movie, Akelaa & The Bee. Cheezy, almost another Gili. They should serioulsy consider focusing on coffee & lay off the music. All they have is gay pop crap. No cool stuff like moe., Phish, Umphrey’s McGee, The Disco Biscuits, etc. That would make the collection they carry a little more appealing to more people.

I think Starbucks has good music… at least I like what I hear. If they want to make it easier to get what is playing in their stores, I’m game.
