Survey: iPhone 5s outselling 5c two to one

Apple’s iPhone 5s is currently more than doubling the sales of iPhone 5c, according to a survey conducted by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP). Based on the survey, the iPhone 5s made up 64 percent of iPhone sales following its launch in September. The iPhone 5c accounted for 27 percent of sales, with the 4s filling in the gap with 9 percent of the sales. CIRP notes the iPhone 5 grabbed slightly more of the iPhone market than the 5s during its release last year — 68 percent — though it was the only new iPhone release at the time. [via AllThingsD]

Only if you can get one.

I ordered on 20th September and didn’t even get a dispatch date until Friday October 11th! Even now, there’s no tracking information.
Meanwhile, people in the UK who ordered on 23rd Sep have already received their handsets.
Apple’s supply chain and customer service leave A LOT to be desired.

At the risk of heresy, I really prefer the iPhone 5C esthetics over the iPhone 5S.  It appears organic, like the Motorola Pebble of old, yet fun with its poppy colors.  I only wish it came in Project (RED) red.

I plan on getting the rumored Apple watch next year which will undoubtedly be groundbreaking and require the M7 coprocessor exclusive to the iPhone 5S.  Therefore, I will likely be picking up an iPhone 5S.  By the time I can find one, Apple will probably have released their watch.

I ordered my 64 GB silver 5s on 9/20 @ 12:02 PST and received it on 9/25. I guess it paid off staying up until 3:00 AM EST. I do miss the ability to preorder, though.
