T-Mobile: No iPhone planned at this time

Following yesterday’s announcement that U.S. iPhone carrier AT&T had reached an agreement with Deutsche Telekom to acquire T-Mobile USA, speculation arose as to whether or not the new agreement would mean that T-Mobile would be launching the iPhone. In a new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) posting, the nation’s third-largest carrier addressed the issue. Under the heading of “Is T-Mobile USA getting the iPhone?,” the company states, “T-Mobile USA remains an independent company. The acquisition is expected to be completed in approximately 12 months. We do not offer the iPhone. We offer cutting edge devices like the Samsung Galaxy S 4G and coming soon our new Sidekick 4G.”
