TechTV: BuyMusic.com vs. iTunes Music Store

“Digital music expert Kevin Arnold, founder of the Independent Online Distribution Alliance, says BuyMusic.com lacks Apple’s seamless, one-price-fits-all approach to downloading music. But that’s the nature of Windows, a multitude of platforms and very few licensing rules. Apple, he says, is the epitome of refinement.
‘I would compare Windows to the wild, wild, west,” says Arnold. “And Apple is like a gated community.’”

I’ve used bothh services.
AAC and WMA imo are both useless formats. If i had to choose i’d probably go with AAC.
the iTunes store is far superior to the BuyMusic.com store. BM.com stole Apple’s idea on the commercial, create a poor site to navigate for music, and think up STUPID slogans.

Who wants to live in a gated community?
As much as I look forward to iTunes coming to windows, I don’t like the idea of having no choice but apples choice.

so does buymusic.com work with the Ipod? I am guessing NO since it is WMA audio?

I would still rather buy a cd and rip it into the format of my own choosing. I bought a cd from buymusic, just to see how it worked and it was a total waste of 10.00.
