UK buyers find auctions to buy minis

“When Apple releases its “iPod mini” digital music player in international markets this summer, thousands of people in the U.K. will already have them.
Dozens of sellers in the U.S. are offering the diminutive devices for sale on the British eBay online auction site at a big markup on the $249 list price.
For years, European buyers have been breaking down traditional retail distribution channels by using online auction sites to buy small electronics goods for lower prices than available locally.”

No wonder the ‘grey’ import market is rife…
iPOD from USA $250 = £142
iPOD from UK £200 = $351
The figures speak for themselves…
The same goes for ANYTHING electrical from the USA. Just check the price variations of products like XBOX, PS2, Minidiscs, Video Recorders, I could go on forever…

Yes, my eBay Mini just turned up (after 5 weeks waiting) - £190 all in, that’s cheaper than the UK recommended price (though I hear they might lower it if it ever gets released over here). So, I get it cheaper and 3 months early - eBay’s the way to go

Hmmmm although great to get hold of mini this early in the UK, I’m holding back until they fix the dodgy sound socket connector.
