H2O Audio has announced the SV-iMini, the first fully waterproof and submersible housing for Apple’s iPod mini. The SV-iMini includes a unique waterproof dial and push button assembly providing full access to the mini’s Click Wheel. The underwater accessory also comes with a lightweight waterproof headset. “Watersports enthusiasts can now take their iPod mini with them while participating in sports such as wakeboarding, surfing, snowboarding, swimming and kayaking,” says H20 Audio. The SV-iMini housing is priced at $149.95 and will begin shipping in December.

Pricey, and only 10ft submersion, but still very cool.
Waterproof headset included… nice.

Maybe I live a sheltered life, but why? So you can take a bath and listen to your iPod?

$149.95?!? Ironically, most people would have to sell their iPod to afford it.

What is that antenna thing on the side?
This thing makes it look like a cell phone

Obadiah: Most people that purchase a waterproof case such as this are probably interested in using the iPod mini when swimming, or other activities (like white-water rafting) where you’re guaranteed to get wet and you run the risk of submerging the iPod under water.
mflat5: That “antenna thing” is probably some sort of waterproof headphone port.

Obadiah - You’d probably also be surprised at how many motorcycle riders listen to iPods while riding.

i called the company today—- by the way….they were very helpful and walked me through all the features. they really got it down as to what it takes to make great products.
the antenna looking this is a removable waterproof stereo jack connector so we can plug our regular earbuds when we are biking or skiing. but when we need to get it wet or underwater(surfing/swimming/kayaking) we can plug in the waterproof headphones that come with the package. i think that is a great design because we get the best of all worlds. they have an armband design as well so it is easy to wear and control.

Just started using mine for swimming training. The box and armband are amazing. No restrictions in any stroke and the controls work fine. Earphones are a touch difficult to set up, and may be buds that block all water
out would be better / comfortable. Or maybe its just goona take time to get used to them. Top marks for build etc

We use our Ipod when boating (wakeboarding) but would be very helpful if they could develop a way to do the FM Modulator/Charger from here, this way we could use it through the boat stereo without worring about it getting wet.
