We’ll have a reporter live at a local Apple store covering Apple’s broadcast of the music event tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m. PT. Apple is expected to announce iTunes for Windows and maybe other iTunes/iPod related items. iLounge will be updating the news on the homepage as it happens.
Join us on IRC channel #ilounge for a play by play report, live from a local Apple store. Look here for more information about our IRC channel and set up.
Live updates will appear on this page beginning at 10 a.m. PT.
Due to possible heavy traffic on iLounge, we’ll keep this page’s graphics and layout to a minimum for faster loading times.

Will iTunes for Windows be available for downloading at midnight tonight?

doubt it - i recently watched the itunes 4 launch video and remember Jobs saying that it would be available on the apple site like a half hour after the event was over - would imagine that they’ll follow a similar pattern tomorrow. i’m a windows user though so I don’t have real experience with apple’s events.

Sadly, I’m behind IRC-blocking firewalls and JPilot doesn’t seem to work for me either (I’ve tried installing it on a remote server).
Does anyone know of a site that might be streaming the Apple broadcast?

What a great day to be a MAC user! I just got 3 pc users here at work to download iTunes for PC. They can’t believe how cool it is. “Is this how all Mac programs run?” I think this will get a lot of people top finally make the switch. One guy is going out to get an iPod at lunch thanks to iTunes!

iTunes downloads for the UK!
iTunes downloads for the UK!
iTunes downloads for the UK!

now all they need is more songs….they just have the big name labels….that’s shameful… why listen to outkast’s hey ya, which is just a drum’n'bass track, of which the masses did not know existed 10 yrs ago… for them it’s fresh… sickening
Message to Apple: Please get content from independent labels… (warp, leaf, fat-cat, ninja tune, mego, planet-mu, rune grammofon, smalltown supersound, bip-hop, morr music, inertia, lex records, ghostly international, orthlong musork, tomlab, khovi records) Until you do that Apple, the avant-garde will still buy cd’s. but i guess you don’t care…. why bother with $100 worth of tunes, when you can rack in $1,000,000 for outkast’s spearkboxxx?

dre_dogg, I’m sure they are working on it! Just be patient! i think the selection is outstanding right now. And it’s only going to get better. My tastes are a little more mainstream than yours… but I find some really rare songs on iTunes all the time. Judging the iTunes collection based on one Outkast song is shameful as well dude. Kudo’s to apple for always keeping things exciting. Now PC users can really get to see what we’ve been talking about for years.

What’s the dance/electronica section like?
P.S.-Yeah,Tools,kinda looks like it.I’m in the same boat that you are. I would get XP,but I can’t justify spending $100.,only to turn around and buy a new computer within the next three months. I can’t even bring myself to go on E-bay. If I do,in all likeliehood,it’ll be an Apple… But who knows? Keep hope…
