Virgin Mobile Canada has announced that it will launch the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS in its Virgin Mobile retail stores and online in the coming months. Although no further details were provided in the official announcement, Canadian mobile news site MobileSyrup suggests that the handset will launch on the carrier in February 2010, and also believes pricing will be similar to that offered by the phone’s other Canadian carriers, with a three-year contract. The iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS are currently available in Canada through Rogers/Fido, Bell Canada, and Telus.

Amazing that you guys in the States get screwed on carrier restrictions (1), and we’ll now have 5 options. Being 1/10 the market seems to help
Of course our plans are a little more $.

what’s the point of having four companies carry the phone if they all have 3 year contracts (only), the same rates to within 5% and the same crap customer service?

GL - Bell Canada owns Virgin. So - offering a Virgin version of its iPhone won’t be a problem. Bell Solo is on its way out, and Virgin will replace it. Much like how Rogers owns FIDO. So there are _actually_ 3 real providers… Rogers/Fido, Bell/Virgin, Telus/KUDO
