Westone Music Products has introduced its new Westone 3 triple-driver in-ear headphones. The 3 features three balanced armature drivers and a three-way crossover network for improved sound, braided cables, and a frequency response of 20 Hz - 18 kHz. Each pair will include a fit kit with ten different styles of eartips to ensure a proper, comfortable fit, a soft zippered carrying pouch, a 1/8” to 1/4” plug adapter, and an inline volume control module. The Westone 3 will be available on November 28 and will sell for $399.

Saving up my money for these headphones.  Had the UM2s for a bit, and if the Westone 3’s are even better, I’m sold.

They are priced higher than the Shure SE530’s, which are very, very good headphones.  I wonder whether these are better?

Otaku2, these are not priced higher.  The Shure SE530’s retail price is $499 ($549 with PTH control) and these Westone’s will retail for $399.

FINALLY!  I heard these at MacWorld almost two years ago…they were fantastic…however six months ago I gave up and bought the Shure SE530s.  They’re great, but maybe not as musical as the Westone 3s.  I’d still consider getting them…but the current economy isn’t a great time to be late in rolling a pricey product.

@HB:  The SE530PTH is $388 brand new at Amazon.  I’m guessing it will be a while before the Westones are discounted.
