What is it? Contest by Rain Design - Winners Announced

Three Product Winners Announced

Prize: Rain Design iWoofer

Most Accurate Description? I’ll try.

It is:
- an iPod dock with speakers and lights
- seen from below
- facing right (in the picture)
- approximately 5 inches in diameter
- iPod’s signature white and silver colors
- meant to showcase the iPod, like many of Rain’s other products are designed to showcase Apple products

It has:
- four legs to elevate it about 1 inch.
- four blue LEDs to create a cool under-glow effect
- some similarities to JBL’s OnStage, except better
- a port on the back (left in picture) for computer-to-iPod cable
- volume controls

It does not have:
- bluetooth
- a remote

It’s a simple iPod docking/speaker station that allows the iPod to play music through the built-in speakers, sync to a computer, and charge its battery. The iPod sits on top, allowing full access to its menus and music. And the ambient blue glow from beneath gives it a sleek futuristic look.

Its a speaker system for the ipod viewed from the underneath. The blue light is projected onto whatever surface it is placed on and may dim in and out or change colors while playing music or synching with itunes. Has four metalic legs and the controls are on the left side of the image in between the 2 metalic circles which are speakers. The black center is the sub-woofer. Charges, syncs, docks, and plays the ipod.

As the compnay mainly produces stands, it would be probable that its first product for the iPod is also a stand. It’s in the shape of a ball, and then it has four legs underneath, and you stick the iPod into the dock on top (in the middle - so it sticks up). But that’s obvious. It is also a powerful speaker system with a built-in sub-woofer. We see the air-intake on the lefthand side, and the big, dark area in the middle is the subwoofer element, probably a 6? or 8?. It will be awesome, and I can’t wait to get my hands on one.

This ipod dock is not just any ordinary dock, as you can tell from every ones guesses. This iPod dock, has a motorized docking door system. Just place your iPod on the white pad, located on the side, and hidden doors will come out and wrap around the iPod docking it for you.
But thats not all this little puppy can do. Not only can this device recharge and sync your dock-able iPod, it can also use its two built in speakers to fill, your room with music. But what if you have the Apple Express Base Station with AirTunes, it will allow you to connect to your Wi Fi base station, to broad cast your music through out your house. Or if you have a pare of Bluetooth enabled headset, the base station will also connect to those for personal use.
The system has four blue LED’s that indicate the systems status; Power/charging, data syncing, audio broadcasting, and VC. VC? What the heck is VC, you may ask your self. Well with all this functionality, comes the simplicity of only one button. Thats right only ONE button, that simply turns the device on and off. But you control every function of this device via Voice Command. Just say the name of your iPod when its docked, and then speak what you want the dock to do, and it will do it.

So just when you thought that, they went to the extent of iPod technology, they make something even better.

To me, it looks like its the bottom of a speaker system that would be in the shape of a rain drop when you looked at it straight on. The system looks held up on four legs, which give it support to sit on a surface. An ipod, probably the new video ipod will be able to dock on the top of the rain drop, and play music through the speakers on the sides and the subwoofer on the bottom. On the side bottom of the rain drop there will be a usb port and variuos other ports such as audio and video which will allow you to connect it to any t.v. device. I think the blue lights on the bottom of the drop will flash to the beat and rhythm of the music producing an underglow affect on whatever surface the rain drop is placed.

I believe this is an external speaker system for the ipod and it also doubles as a dock for it too. This follows the iDog trend by giving it lights that change and pulse as the music is played to create an ipod enviornment for the whole room. I feel that the four pegs are not legs but more of controls for volume/play/pause/and playback features. It plugs through the dock port on the ipods to make it compatible with all the ipods to date and for the future as well. The bass for the system will come out of the oval ring on the left side of the picture. It is shaped after a alien craft as mentioned in the “landing Soon” on the website.

Obviously, it’s an “iHEAR”.  You’re able to use your remote control from any corner of the room to AJUST the settings on your iPod as it is DOCKED in the center of the iHEAR Station.  You can use it as a ‘stand alone model’ with surround sound or, have it SYNCHED to your home sound system, home theatre, TVs, or computer syste(s).  The possibilites are endless.  You haven’t heard anything yet—-until you experience the iHEAR.  (by the way, the lights only add to the “show”)

could be a bottom-mount base/bass sub-woofer (or not), with “light show” elements.

You Plug your ipod into it. It plays your music through it. While the music is going it uses lights, colors, and flashing lights to get your attention and adding a great experiance to your ipod.

This is a Ipod Projector so that when you plug in you new Ipod 5G Ipod you can view slidshows, photos, play videos, listen to music, and just use ur Ipod Video to its full extent.

It is a stylish dock connector for the iPod.

It lights up when it is active or syncing.

It COULD also work as an Speaker syste ( although Rain Design does not seem to have ever made speakers before ) for the iPod and also lights up.
