wiDock enables wireless iPod transfers

Silex Technology has introduced the wiDock, a new iPod docking solution that enables you to transfer songs and video wirelessly to your iPod over an 802.11g Wi-Fi network. The wiDock can be connected to your home entertainment system for audio and video playback from the iPod. The dock, which works with both PCs and Macs, also charges the iPod’s battery and allows users to control playback using the Apple Remote. The wiDock features a 3.5mm audio output, S-Video output, and ethernet connectivity. Pricing was not available.

If the price is fair and it works like it’s supposed to… then I’m sold. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I like to have my ipod connected to my stereo…. which is across the rooom.. this will be extra convienant!

So you can transfer songs wirelessly, but not connect to your stereo wirelessly. That seems kind of pointless… unless you want to keep you iPod connected to the stereo while transfering songs. I don’t know it seems kind of pointless if you still need wires…

Needs speakers. Then you put it in your bedroom to use as a stereo and synch with your PC in the living room.

Will it give a nice gui on the TV as Griffins dock? That might be the only thing missing…
