I have a 2nd Gen 10g Ipod and i use winxp with xplay and it works great!!....really noticeable difference in volume. whole process took about 10 minutes for about 1900 songs. i like how it remembers what the last volume change you made to it. i first tried it at 30% then figured 40% would be even better and it was. 60% sounds a bit overboard however on US models without volume capped. Good work guys! Great piece of software and its free to boot!

I actually use 60% when using this tool, though im the only i know do that.
I think 40% is most common.
Anyways, it will only use long time first time, if u add 40 songs next time it will take the new 40 songs in a few seconds

This piece of software kicks my ### and then some! Worked on my 2nd Gen Ipod great! Took about 5 seconds to update my 2000 songs, give or take a second! Just one question does making the volume higher have any effect on battery life. im assuming so but is it a big difference? Well done EsspeN.

Im glad it worked Jaguares…
Well i have no idea, but is that really an issue ?? I mean, i bet the ipod will run 2 hours extra with no volume at all
I have no idea, but i bet higher volume will drain the battery faster, but what do i know

interesting sarcasm but i will pay your ransom none the less! oh wait its free! i just like to point out the painfully obvious as you can see. as far as it wasting more battery. its well worth it if i can go deaf alot quicker.

i cant believe how this works, i’m an entertainer and have just switched from minidisc to this little pod, probs had so far couple of lock ups and the main thing volume !!!! on a external amp the line gains had to be nearly on full, (not good), just applied your prog, sounds good through headphones, worried about clipping, not heard any yet through phones but tonight is the testing time…..hope all goes well….. will let you know tomorrow….
again many tks…..
(other wishlist autopause)
If autopause was on the ipod it would sell in abundance to entertainers…

esspen, u are just the best, tried it last night on stage, up to now not heard any clipping or distortion when put through 1000w amp/speakers…..(then again i suppose it depends on the quality of your mp3s in the first place).....didn’t have any probs…..at work most nights so will let you know more in a cpl of weeks
again many many thks

Does this process distort the sound of the mp3 at all?
Posted by woojest on August 11, 2003 at 6:00 AM (PST)
19
No it doesn’t distort the sound, at least not at the volumes i use for listening.
thx again espen for the update of your programme!
