Worked like a charm… a little slow though, i used it on my work machine (only 1.7GB) and it took about 5 minutes.  If i use it on my home computer (~37GB) it would take forever!  But well worth it, a solid program.

This is a great program and has gradually evolved to become a fully functional program. It saved me so much time and found art for the vast majority of my albums.

I think it took about 1-2 hours for 12Gb on a 56K connection for me. If you disconnect during the process you son’t have to get them all again though as the program updates each file as it goes.

So am i just missing somthing. When i download iArt all i get is an .exe file (windows file). Is this only a windows program? and if so where’s the MAC program?

This is excellent!  But I worry if it’s going to make my music collection take up another 100 MB.  Some of these images are pretty big.

As for a mac version: Hell no.  Keep it windows-only.  Great iTunes apps that are Windows only are few and far between.  Suck it, mac users!

This just amplifies what’s broken with how iTunes implementats album art. Why embed the album art in tags and piggyback them along with the files? Especially because the current iPod can’t even display that album art.

iTunes should take a leave from VideoLAN or Media Center and use a metadata file/NFO associated with the album or song. That metadata file references the album art using simple XMl lookup.

Then when you are synchonrizing to a portable device or streaming across the network, you can choose whether or not to also include the associated album art, and exactly which kind, class, or category of associated file to transport.

And iTunes needs some good visualisations to work with the album art. Take a leaf from Media Center and render the album the art into some 3D landscapes, then do camera flybys over the album material rendered within the album art landscapes. It’s excellent for parties!

i thought it would find art by album, not by song. i have a few soundtracks/compliations and the art for them is the artist’s album, not the st/compl album.
there should be an option [if possible] to search by album only, not by artist/song

I just downloaded the program and I was reading the read me included with it.

“All album art is stored IN the mp3 file. So it will make the mp3 file a bit larger.”

Does this mean it wont be supported with my AAC files? cause i converted all my mp3’s to AAC cause its smaller.

well witht he previous ver it never found any songs of 8000 with artwork but now its finds art for nearly 90% 

when you have greatest hits cd’s witha slightly mistitled album name it usually resorts tot he original album for that song but its still really really nice….  only 25gb more to find music for!!!!
